Yves Klein. Blue Monochrome. 1961

monochromes blau

This painting is regarded as a masterpiece of Modern European art. Our version was printed from three plates and is a real treasure as these prints very rarely come on the market. Ein Beispiel ist Blau, kombiniert mit Hellblau, Graublau, Dunkelblau und entsprechenden Zwischentönen. In the twentieth century, with the rise of abstract art many artists experimented with making monochrome paintings including Anish Kapoor, Ad Reinhardt, Robert Ryman and Robert Rauschenberg. Critics will later refer to this text as the first manifesto of the movement. His famous monochrome paintings, in particular, have been praised for the use of one single, primary color alone: blue. The second purpose of monochrome, for some artists, was to reduce the painting or sculpture to its simplest form so that the focus of the piece would be on its pure physical elements; colour, form, texture or the way in which it was made. The departure in strategy for Blau's recent work is these groupings hold to one particular moment in history instead of his usual sweep across time. He returns to France in early December, and settles in Paris. Very quickly they obviously became blue! Monochrome by Yves Klein exhibited at the 1st Festival of avant-garde art, Cité Radieuse, Marseille. Formerly in the collection of the Brooklyn Museum, Accord bleu was one of the few examples of the series to bear such an evocative title; the title of this spectacular work would be used again two years later for a sponge relief in the eminent collection of the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam.

Klein began painting monochrome paintings early in a career in 1949, when he had 21. Dividing the canvas down the centre with a razor like line, Grotjahn slices the vanishing point so that the bands on the left converge slightly lower than those on the right. Each object at the fair is vetted for authenticity, date, and condition by a committee of 150 experts from the United States and Europe. Yves Klein realizes there his most important retrospective. Piero Manzoni also meets Yves, and visits the exhibition several times. Both friends also decide to set up a joint exhibition at the Iris Clert Gallery. In diesem Zeitraum entstanden auch die ersten Versionen zur Symphonie Monoton Silence.

The technical challenges posed by space photography are particularly obvious in these early astronomical pictures. Executed in coloured pencil, the optical illusion of adjoining rainbow-toned lines becomes compounded as a feat of concentration. Henri Sauvaire 1831-1896 was an accomplished photographer with extensive knowledge of the Middle East. On 1st March, Yves produces The Store-Poem in cooperation with Arman, Claude Pascal and Pierre Restany. It will be flooded with light.

Both fearless in their own right, Brandt and Lacks covered the Battle of Shanghai which left an estimated 250,000 Chinese civilians dead until the end of 1937. You can enter the grid at any point, become the film's editor and piece together your own inspired narrative. Flaunting a mastery of technique at odds with the low-culture connotations of kitsch plastic colour and bold egoist tagging, Grotjahn humorously approaches abstract painting with tongue in cheek, transforming artistic faux pas into an image of intense beauty. Dazu spielte ein Orchester ein von Klein komponiertes Stück, die Monotone Symphonie, die nur aus einem einzigen Klang bestand. In March 1960, Klein patented a method by which he was able to distance himself from the physical creation of his paintings by remotely directing models covered in the color. Soon after, he escaped from prison using a mock gun carved from a potato. Klein was invited to join Kricke's team, submitting proposals for the interior alongside the other artists.

These striking monochromes are complemented by a selection of earlier, color, almost abstract pieces from the 1970s — in black, red and blue gouache and wax crayon, perhaps coincidentally the colors of German electric cabling. In the first chapter of Max Heindel's important 1909 work, The Rosicrucian Cosmo-Conception, or Mystic Christianity: An Elementary Treatise Upon Man's Past Evolution, Present Constitution and Future Development, the author explained how the various dimensions of existence, ranging from the basest material order to the heights of the divine Immaterial, could exist simultaneously and in the same place by using the sponge as an illustration: the sponge can be saturated by sand and water, the latter itself containing air. Rapid technological advances in the 1920s paved the way for electronic transmission of images by cable and radio. On 28 th October, Klein gathers together Arman, Hains, Raysse, Restany and Tinguely in order to produce a collective Anthropometry shroud. In Accord Bleu, the individual sponges that comprise the surface and that make such an intriguing, textured otherworldly landscape harness life; at the same time, they serve as microcosms, as Klein had explained, for the saturation of sensibility within the viewer.
